I'm on a century of glory and stay in the downtown Hilton for one night, I wonder if my laptop would be safe while I was in front of the room?

Yes, your laptop and other valuables safe. No boy is to risk their tasks, their families livilihood plus a laptop or a value. Most of them were employed by the shipping company for many years. They are losing a lot of money and not risk his job.
I thought I would not, the connection is still patchy at best and if you want to go online, go to internet cafe and pay for a few minutes here and there.
Personally I wouldnt bother setting, I think, very Expesive their Wi-Fi use on boats are not sure whether the carnival!
